Which is the best social media website for marketing?

Truthfully, there is no single “best social media website for marketing.”  Each social media network has value and unique features that will serve some markets well and do little to help in other markets.  The key is to understand what works for your target audience and your particular market.  For example, LinkedIn is a social media platform that works particularly well for B2B companies because the primary focus of the network is connecting businesses and professionals.  Conversely, Pinterest might be better suited for a B2C market because of the nature of the material shared.  Each social media network has value, but it is up to you to determine what will work best for your organization and how best to leverage it.

What is the next trend in social media?

Video is by far one of the fastest growing trends in social media.  Between the recently added video features on Snapchat and Instagram to the continued growth in the number of video focused social media platforms, you cannot go wrong with video.  The internet is quickly moving towards being primarily video focused and if you don’t jump onboard now, you could be lost in the shuffle.


Will social media replace email marketing?

No.  Social media is incredibly valuable, bus so is email marketing.  In fact, the average return on investment for an email marketing campaign is $44.55 for every $1 spent, versus only $12.90 for every $1 spent on social media marketing.  Email marketing is experiencing a revival and is expected to continue growing in the coming years, especially with the rapid growth in mobile online traffic.  It’s important to keep in mind that people do not typically change their email addresses or email service providers often, but they do move from social media platform to platform as the trends evolve and change.

What is your best social media marketing tip?

The absolute best advice we can give you about social media marketing is to openly communicate with your followers and clients on any network you use.  Encourage commenting and always be sure to respond to any interaction your followers pursue; even the negative interactions.  Communicating with your followers on social media makes your business seem real and approachable to consumers, giving you the opportunity to form relationships.  As you develop a relationship with your followers, you promote loyalty, and it is significantly easier to maintain loyal consumers than it is to find new consumers.


What is the worst social media marketing practice?

Probably the worst thing you can do on social media is think that you need to be on every network just to be there.  That is simply not the case, especially if you won’t take the time to really engage on each network.  Having a social media presence just to be there does nothing for your business and could even hurt it when consumers realize you aren’t there to interact.  Your best bet is to concentrate your efforts on a select few platforms on which your target audience regularly engages.
